My name is Elena Letyagina and I am a registered nutritional therapist and the founder of Gut Philosophy.
I graduated from the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition and have a particular interest in gut health and its role in the development of chronic illnesses and our overall health.
The idea of Gut Philosophy was born when I was dealing with my own health issues. Prior to my studies, I was an investment professional working long hours in a highly pressured environment. This was the time when I started having my first health concerns, such as frequent respiratory infections. After having my two children, my health deteriorated further, my recurrent infections caused constant complications, I was taking rounds of antibiotics, developed joint pains, was sleep deprived and generally was not feeling my best.
Only when I started my nutrition studies I managed to link all of these seemingly unrelated symptoms back to my gut health. That was a breakthrough moment as none of my concerns were gut related. This is when I realised how important our gut health is for our overall health, vitality and longevity. Gut Philosophy was founded to educate people about gut health and empower them to take actions towards achieving their optimal wellbeing. Even if you think that your health issues have nothing to do with the gut, the chances are high that they are related to the gut.
I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and is registered with the Council of Natural Healthcare (CNHC). I adhere BANT’s and CNHC’s strict codes of conduct, fully insured and constantly undertake continuous professional development.
